to everyone who responeded to my last post without reading it. I didnt say it was a good choice. I never said Dslash owns DPS, Pure, un-interrupted DPS. of course blocking, prot, adren denial and a billion other things destroy you. the question was what has more DPS, and Dslash does have more DPS, your just never going to get it to work on another player.

The census in the thread is that Axes do have a higher dps than sword only in the CURRENT GVG AND HA META because of the large amounts of anti-melee.

In a pure DPS battle however, the Dragon slash warrior will produce THE MOST DAMAGE PER SECOND out of ANY BUILD POSSIBLE in guild wars PERIOD. which means that swords in fact do produce the highest DPS possible.

In short:

In a perfect world swords are BY FAR better pain givers than axes!

When taking into account the fact that there is blocking, blinding, and kiting, and condition removal, axes are much better at dealing fast spurts of damage as well as pressure. They are much more versatile than swords and can be used with better success in many more situations which is why they are better in PvP.
Thanks I always though that sword and axes were on par with one another depending on which type of damage you wanted.I really like DSlash and was glad when sword finally got an elite worth while haven't capped crip slash yet don't do enough PvP.The only unfortunate thing is D.slash is all the way in Boreas Seabed mission meaning just to cap it you have to go through all the rest of those missions.

What are you on?! A rit with spirit strength and dagger skills has a higher DPS than a dragon slash build. (off-topic slightly but Owell).

Btw @ Coloneh.. "Axes are better than sword cus of AoE"... You suck... and much.
